Made precisely for delicious coffee

All critical components on the LAGOM 01 are machined to a tolerance of 0.01mm, and the unibody design minimizes tolerance stack, ensuring excellent alignment right out of the box. This means you can forget about the grinder and focus on what truly matters - making delicious coffee!

Mizen burrs - for modern light roasts

In-house developed Mizen Burrs specially optimized for modern light roasts. For those seeking to push the boundaries further, we offer a blind burrs option in a 102mm XL size. The XL Blind Burrs not only minimizes retention but also maximizes the grinding surface all within the same compact format.

Tool-less disassembly with zero calibration

Our ground-up redesign includes tool-less disassembly with incorporation of an adjustable zero-calibration system. The tool-less disassembly design enables you to easily clean the grinder when necessary without requiring any additional tools. The calibration system allows you to share your grind settings easily with other baristas.

Workflow-focused, and more

Building upon our extensive experience in grinder design, we've taken it a step further to make the LAGOM 01 even more workflow-friendly. These design elements come together to deliver a seamless workflow, enabling you to effortlessly make delicious coffee with minimal effort.

Precisely built with micronS-level tolerance

At OPTION-O, precision is at the very core of what we do. The LAGOM 01 features critical components machined to a tolerance of <0.01mm (10 microns) or better. We've carefully considered and implemented measures throughout the design and machining phases to minimize the accumulation of tolerance stack during manufacturing, ensuring that suboptimal alignment won't hinder you from achieving delicious coffee. And it doesn’t stop there! Each critical part of LAGOM 01 undergoes thorough QC checks to ensure they meet our stringent specifications. Even after a disassembly, this grinder maintains its precision, consistently delivering the perfect grind for delicious coffee. Our goal is to ensure every user achieves exceptional results right out of the box.

Ultra low retention with Static-reduction

With the implementation of a new static reduction technology, the use of Ross Droplet Technique (RDT) is now optional, even in demanding, low-humidity environments where static electricity can be a significant challenge. Designed to be maintenance free and self-cleaning without additional input from barista, this new feature allows for a more streamlined workflow, making grinding as easy as it can get. The static-reduction function also ensures that coffee grounds are evenly dispensed into the portafilter with minimal spill from static, assisting in providing consistently distributed coffee bed every time*.

*For best results, we still recommend including a quick post-grind distribution step (e.g. WDT) where feasible to maximize the potential for perfect results.

Custom Mizen burrs - in XL blind burrs Format

After about a year of extensive testing and development, we're excited to introduce our new Mizen burrs for the LAGOM 01. Working from a classic geometry as a foundation, we've taken many steps to push its performance forward through numerous trials and errors, optimizing it to a final form where we believe is best for presenting modern light roasts. The Mizen burrs are now available in blind burr format, exclusively in XL 102mm diameter size, which minimizes retention even further and with enhanced performance from the increased surface area. The Mizen XL blind burrs feature a slightly enlarged outer diameter and an expanded grinding surface area due to elimination screw holes, resulting in an impressive ~18% increase in effective grinding surface area (compared to common 98mm burrs), all while utilizing the same compact housing!

While surface area is important, we believe the cutter geometry and surface characteristic to be equally important. The geometry and manufacturing of the Mizen burrs have been optimized and selected based on their ability to improve flavor separation to produce a sweet, juicy cup profile for specialty light roasts. Our goal is to allow the delicate nuances of the coffee to come to the forefront and take the center stage.

**The LAGOM 01 is also available with 98mm-carrier configuration (not compatible with blind burrs however) for those who prefer to have access to 98mm burrs instead.

New improved Chute Knocker

Drawing inspiration from our beta-test NEAT clicker for the LAGOM P100**, we've integrated the same principle into the new LAGOM 01. Our team went back to the drawing board to refine the previous design, resulting in an overall improved design combining the benefits of previous version of chute knockers and the NEAT Clicker. With its new magnetic-assisted mechanism, the LAGOM 01's Chute Knocker is even more user-friendly, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience. Now, with just a simple flick of an actuator, the new Chute Knocker effortlessly clears any lingering grind residue from the chute, ensuring precise dosing with ease, every time.

** A special shoutout to our awesome LAGOM P100 NEAT clicker beta testers for your valuable feedback. We're working on a new retrofit kit for LAGOM P100 based on this improved design. Stay tuned, and we'll be in touch to let you know when they're ready!

New modular platform design

The portafilter fork platform on the LAGOM 01 has been completely revamped and redesigned into a versatile modular platform, created with a home-barista’s workflow in mind. The lower floor height significantly reduces the risk of base-plate damage due to accidental portafilter drops. By default, the LAGOM 01 can be used with the supplied magnetically-attached portafilter holder (for 58mm basket) or with a magnetically-attached grind cup. Furthermore, the modular platform has been designed to prioritize adaptability, accommodating not only the supplied 58mm portafilter holder, but also easily adaptable to aftermarket grind cups and aftermarket tamping stations for holding non-58mm portafilters. This ensures that the platform can seamlessly integrate into any workflow and allows for future modular upgrades, all while maintaining simplicity and ease of use.

Workflow made for baristas

Our design focus for the LAGOM 01 centers on enhancing the ergonomics and overall user experience for baristas. Every aspect of its design is carefully selected to ensure seamless, effortless grinding workflow. All you need to do is input your desired amount of coffee, and the LAGOM 01 takes care of the rest with minimal intervention required from the barista. With features like auto-purge, auto switch-off, stepless grind adjustment, static reduction, and an easy-to-read dial, etc., we've carefully integrated these distinct elements into one streamlined package, simplifying and enhancing your grinding experience. Whether you're a professional barista working in a bar or a coffee enthusiast at home, our goal is for the LAGOM 01 to provide you with exceptional results consistently and effortlessly.

Grind adjustment mechanism - redefined

In response to positive user feedback, we've adopted and improved our zero-calibration feature from the P64 model to the LAGOM 01, providing fully calibratable zero-settings without the use of stickers. Additionally, this improved visibility of the grind setting from the front, even in extreme ranges such as both filter and espresso, makes it an excellent multi-use grinder. The LAGOM 01 also includes a removable safety grind-setting limiter, allowing you to restrict the grind range and extending the burrs' lifespan by preventing accidental damage due to burr adjustments below zero. This adds an extra layer of user-friendliness and safety, making it easier to use in a dynamic café setting or by family members.

Built to last and for ease of repair

In line with our design philosophy, we are dedicated to creating grinders that are not only dependable but also built to withstand the test of time. With this in mind, the LAGOM 01 is constructed using standard components where possible, including the motor, ensuring both reliability and ease of maintenance. Furthermore, the LAGOM 01 has been thoughtfully engineered to ensure ease of repair when needed. We understand that in the unlikely event of part replacement being necessary down the road, the ability to address such issues with ease brings peace of mind. This focus on repairability ensures that the LAGOM 01 can be kept in optimal working condition, serving you reliably for years to come.

Designed for both home and café use, the LAGOM 01 is engineered to provide exceptional reliable performance in any setting.
